A wild week in Magaluf…

Cheap drinks, hot beaches, good music – what could go wrong? Our trip to the isle of Mallorca didn’t end up as smoothly as planned…

We got out of the airport at around 10am (6am flight from Stansted) and arrived at the hotel at 11. We had to wait until 1pm for our room to be ready, where we were kindly welcomed by nice yet oh so pushy MCP (Magaluf Club Pass) reps. We already knew we weren’t going to buy their deals, we could get it for cheaper and their events weren’t really what we wanted to do every night anyway.

We got the keys to our room and headed up. Our hotel was the HM Martinique, a cheap 18-30’s stay. To put it nicely, the bleach stench when you walk in, didn’t make you think it was clean! We quickly got changed and headed down for some of the all inclusive food. The food was average, pasta and pizza being the safest option. Although after a few days I found myself craving the salad option (too many carbs!!).

The beach was just around the corner, which we realised after two days we had been walking a different route which took us 15 minutes longer!! The beach was busy but not too crowded, and the sea was lovely! Each day we spent a few hours at the beach, sunbathing, swimming and even rented a pedalo! The sea was clean and warm and there was lots of bars and restaurants along the beachfront. One in particular named Tom Browns did tasty food for cheap and had great air con! Visiting the beach everyday was definitely a highlight of trip!

Nobody goes to Magaluf for the beaches though, they come for the drinks and the clubs. The drinks here are strong and cheap! No complaints from us! We went to different places each night, but I enjoyed going bar to bar on the strip the best. One terrible night though was when Steve Aoiki was performing at BCM Nightclub and mine and my friends iPhones were stolen! This meant us spending hours in the local police station with 20 other people with stolen phones, needing a report for our insurance claim!

After that though the nights were better with less dramatics! All in all we had a memorable week in Magaluf- coming back with plenty of stories to tell!!
